CHICAGO – December 7, 2018 – Berkadia today announced the recent sale of Brandywine Apartments, a 296-unit garden-style apartment community in Indianapolis. Director Chris Bruzas and Managing Director Alex Blagojevich of Berkadia’s Chicago office completed the sale on behalf of the seller, The McKinley Companies, based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The buyer was Toronto-based Emma Capital, and the deal closed on November 30.
“This acquisition gives Emma Capital even more scale to the north Indianapolis submarket, pushing them over 600 total owned units and further boosted efficiencies on the rehab and management side of their business,” said Bruzas. “We are thrilled to have now closed four properties in Indianapolis this year with Emma Capital’s team, and look forward to their continued partnership moving forward.”
Brandywine Apartments are located at 8444 Rothbury Drive. Built in 1974, the property consists of two-story buildings in unique loft and townhome styles. The apartments are spacious, feature convenient in-unit washer and dryer connections and lake views. Community amenities include a fitness facility, tennis courts and a lakeside pool deck.
