MINNEAPOLIS, MN – November 10, 2021 – Berkadia announced the expansion of its investment sales presence in Minnesota with the addition of Director Molly Podratz to its Investment Sales platform. She will focus on institutional sales and report to Senior Managing Director Pete Evans.
Evans and his team have completed over $1.3 billion in multifamily transactions in the Twin Cities over the past 15 years, with some of the area’s largest and most complex transactions among them. Notable 2021 transactions have included raising joint venture equity for a $100 million development in Minnetonka and the $85 million sale of an apartment community in Plymouth. Berkadia also has a strong mortgage banking presence in the region, having completed more than $1 billion in loan originations in the Twin Cities since 2016.
“Molly brings an incredibly unique background to Berkadia, having worked extensively on the development side on both high-rise and low-rise projects across the Midwest through every phase of the development process, including pre-development planning and design, entitlement process, and construction management from pre-construction through lease-up,” said Evans. “Her experience will enable us to bring clients a greater depth of property understanding to unlock the most strategic opportunities with the greatest potential for their portfolios.”
Podratz joins Berkadia from AMLI Residential, a multifamily real estate developer and owner with a national footprint, where she served as Vice President – Development. In this role, she oversaw a wide range of projects and responsibilities, from due diligence to development to architecture and interior design to marketing, receiving AMLI’s ‘Developer of the Year Award’ for outperformance.
“I’m excited to join Berkadia and to extend the organization’s reach in the Midwest,” said Podratz. “There is tremendous interest in the region, especially for institutional clients, and I’m eager to leverage my expertise to help our clients better understand the investment opportunities available to them and to make the best decisions to meet their long-term goals.”
Prior to AMLI, Podratz worked as a Senior Analyst, Originations, at GMAC Commercial Mortgage, during which time she supported the origination, underwriting and structuring of over $200 million of senior and mezzanine loans across core asset classes. She holds a BBA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a major in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics.
