Berkadia Secures Financing and Completes Sale of Florida Properties

ORLANDO and TAMPA, Fla. – October 27, 2017 – Berkadia today announced the Florida teams recently secured financing and completed the sale of properties in Florida.

Senior Managing Director Marc Sumner secured $27M in financing for the Winter Park Shopping Center in Winter Park, Florida. The 15-year loan was secured through Sun Life Financial.

“The shopping center is anchored by Whole Foods and Nordstrom Rack, representing an excellent investment opportunity with strong sponsorship,” said Sumner.

Separately, the investment sales team completed the $18.57 million sale of Villages at Turtle Creek, a garden-style multifamily property in Lutz, Florida. Berkadia represented the seller, GMC Properties, and the buyer was Praxis Capital. Senior Director Jason Stanton of the Tampa office and Senior Managing Director Cole Whitaker of the Orlando office completed the sale. Managing Director Jackson Cloak of the Irvine, California office worked to secure financing for the property.

The property features one- and two-bedroom floor plans with amenities including a fitness center, two pools, laundry facility, tennis court and spa. Villages at Turtle Creek is within two miles of the University of South Florida, Shriners Hospitals for Children, Florida Hospital Tampa, James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, and the Moffitt Cancer Center.

“The new owner is planning on implementing a value-add program, leveraging off numerous capital improvements that were completed by the previous owner,” said Stanton.
