NEW YORK/WASHINGTON – July 31, 2017 – Berkadia today announced an expansion to support seniors housing investors throughout the United States with the addition of industry veteran Tim Cobb. Cobb brings nearly two decades of experience to Berkadia in his new role as managing director and Seniors Housing & Healthcare investment sales lead.
“Tim’s proven track record on both the lending and sales side means that investors have a resource who understands their needs and knows how to get their deal done,” Head of Investment Sales Keith Misner said. “He is passionate about not just fulfilling but exceeding client expectations through creative solutions, and we are excited to have him on board as we continue to broaden our integrated service offerings.”
Cobb will work closely alongside Christopher Honn, senior managing director and head of the Seniors Housing & Healthcare Group, to build an integrated sales platform that showcases Berkadia’s full-suite of capabilities. Berkadia’s seasoned Seniors Housing & Healthcare team has proven its prowess in recent years on the debt placement side, consistently producing over $1 billion in loan volume each year for the last three years. With dedicated resources to close Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and HUD/FHA financing for seniors housing deals, Berkadia is the number one HUD loan originator and a top lender in combined overall closed and delivered production volume for Fannie and Freddie.
“Berkadia’s demonstrable success in senior housing lending, as well as its commitment to growing the best-in-class integrated investment sales and mortgage banking teams, will serve as the catalyst for building out the seniors housing investment sales team,” said Cobb. “I am thrilled to expand this business within the context of Berkadia’s integrity above all philosophy.”
Prior to joining Berkadia, Cobb was a senior managing director at Blueprint Healthcare Real Estate Advisors, where he managed the East Coast office and provided investment sales advisory for institutional clients nationwide. He has also has held senior roles at CFG Capital Markets, Heller Financial, GE Capital and KeyBank, and is a member of the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care Industries, as well as the American Seniors Housing Association. Cobb will be located in Berkadia’s D.C. Metro office.
