Brian Gould joined Berkadia in 2023 as a Managing Director on the mortgage banking platform in Washington D.C. He arranges loans and JV Equity for commercial real estate owners and developers on various property types including multifamily, single-family rental, industrial, retail, office, self-storage, and more. A 22-year veteran of the commercial real estate finance field, Brian has closed more than $10 billion of financings throughout the country.

Prior to joining Berkadia, Brian was a Managing Director at Chatham Financial, where he led a newly established CRE capital advisory team in Washington D.C.  In his four years at Chatham, Brian and his team sourced over $1.5 billion of construction, bridge, and permanent financings for over 20 clients. Previously, Brian spent nine years with JBG SMITH (NYSE: JBGS) as a Senior Vice President, overseeing the financing needs of the company’s commercial real estate portfolio. Brian and the team completed over $1 billion of financings annually with banks, debt funds, agency, CMBS, and life companies. Highlights of his tenure at JBG include sourcing over $2 billion of multifamily construction loans and leading the procurement of the $1.4 billion credit facility as part of the 2017 formation of JBG SMITH from the former JBG Companies and the Charles E. Smith division of Vornado. Gould’s efforts on the construction loan of Fort Totten Square were cited for the 2013 Financing of the Year award by the Washington Business Journal. Brian began his career as a CRE lender with Prudential Financial (NYSE: PRU) followed by six years with Guggenheim Partners.

Brian is a 2001 graduate of Northwestern University and earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2004.
