Managing Director of Mortgage Banking in Detroit
David Sibbold has had extensive experience in real estate lending/finance and mortgage banking for over 25 years. He is a past owner/principal in Proctor & Associates/Proctor Group, which was one of Michigan’s largest and most respected commercial mortgage banking firms from 1985-2001.
He has been with Berkadia Commercial Mortgage (formerly GMAC Commercial Mortgage) since 2001. Berkadia is one of the largest commercial mortgage banking firms in the nation. He is a managing director with Berkadia and is involved in loan and equity origination for a number of Berkadia’s largest clients. His experience includes the underwriting, closing and servicing of permanent, bridge, mezzanine and construction loans, as well as the placement of equity, on commercial and multi-family real estate with life insurance companies, the agencies (FNMA, Freddie Mac & HUD), conduits, banks and other financial institutions.
Mr. Sibbold was a Vice President and lending officer for National Bank of Detroit (now JP Morgan/Chase) for 10 years from 1975-1985, where he was a commercial lender, construction lender and manager of the commercial real estate loan placement group. He is a frequent guest lecturer at the University of Michigan Business School in the area of real estate finance.
