Edward Kim is a managing director in the Irvine office.  He has been a commercial real estate finance professional since 1997 and is primarily responsible for the origination and placement of both debt and structured finance transactions for all property types throughout the U.S.  Throughout his career, Mr. Kim has utilized his prior lending experience to provide creative financing structures and capital placements for his clients.  He has participated in originating, underwriting and processing in excess of $2.5 billion of debt, equity and mezzanine loan transactions.  Prior to joining Berkadia in June of 2010, Edward was a principal at Verona Capital Markets, a Los Angeles based real estate investment banking company specializing in debt and equity placement.  Prior to Verona, Mr. Kim was a vice president at Amherst Real Estate Capital, Inc., specializing in debt and equity placements.   The genesis of Mr. Kim’s real estate career started at Credit Suisse / Column Financial, Inc., a Wall Street lender where he was responsible for underwriting and closing fixed and floating rate structured real estate debt secured by commercial properties.
