Associate Director of Affordable Housing

Jerry H. Getant is an Associate Director of Affordable Housing at Berkadia, based in Atlanta, GA. In this role, he is responsible for executing, structuring, and originating Affordable Housing transactions. Bringing nearly twenty years of experience of commercial real estate, Jerry previously served as Director of Affordable Housing Lending at Greystone where he oversaw the company’s Affordable Loan Sales Desk platform and assisted the firm’s 200 origination staff with structuring affordable loan requests.

Prior to joining Greystone, Mr. Getant was responsible for nationwide loan originations, based out of Walker & Dunlop’s Atlanta office. Mr. Getant specialized in the origination of multifamily loans through Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and Walker & Dunlop’s proprietary bridge loan execution. Mr. Getant has significant experience structuring transactions for conventional multifamily housing, as well as multiple affordable housing programs including both 4% and 9% LIHTC, Section 8 Housing, Project Based Rental Agreements, Tax-Exempt Bonds, Mark-to-Market and many other programs. Throughout his career, Mr. Getant has been involved with the structuring, underwriting, and closing of over $750 Million in total loan volume across multiple platforms.

Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Getant served as an assistant vice president with Grandbridge Real Estate Capital in their Asset Management department where he managed the operations of a commercial real estate portfolio of approximately $4 billion and processed nearly $400 million in assumptions for various lenders.  Before Grandbridge, Mr. Getant served as a financial analyst/special asset manager with TriMont Real Estate Advisors, Inc., where he managed a portfolio of distressed assets and real estate owned (REO) properties for domestic and international clients and as a junior FHA underwriter for Arbor Commercial Mortgage.  Mr. Getant began his career with State Street Corporation as a portfolio accountant.

Mr. Getant earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and an Executive MBA from the Kennesaw State University’s Coles College of Business.
