Lending Industry Veteran
John W. Bray joined Berkadia in August 2016 as a Senior Managing Director to lead the Atlanta office’s Mortgage Banking Group. Prior to joining Berkadia, John was a Managing Director at JLL and its predecessor, Primary Capital Advisors, for 12 years where he was responsible for arranging permanent capital for multifamily owners and developers headquartered in the southeastern United States.
John began his lending career with C&S Bank in 1990 where he spent six years as relationship manager sourcing construction loans on commercial projects in Atlanta. He then continued his construction lending career with Wachovia Bank, now Wells Fargo, until 1998 when he joined Standard Mortgage Corporation to originate permanent loans in the multifamily sector. John has more than 20 years of experience originating loans for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and his expertise and knowledge of both lenders’ platforms ensures his clients a smooth and certain execution on their permanent loans.
As a 25-year lending industry veteran, John has served on Freddie Mac’s Sellers/Services Advisory Council and is a former board member of the NMHC. Mr. Bray earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Georgia Business School.
