Steve Long, Senior Vice President – Agency Structured Transactions at Berkadia, leads a team dedicated to driving production of Structured Transactions for both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Consistently ranked among the top five facility debt providers, Berkadia services more than 25 active Fannie Mae credit facilities totaling nearly $4 billion. In his role, he educates Berkadia’s Mortgage Banking platform and clients alike about structured products, ensuring that clients’ needs and goals are met. In addition, he directs them through the entire process of identifying and underwriting properties, negotiating term sheets and loan documents, and monitoring existing structured pools to assist with any future collateral events.

He is also active on multiple Berkadia committees, including the Production Resources Committee, which works to implement and improve tools and resources to support Berkadia’s network, and the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Committee, which works to positively impact and drive change in an industry that has historically not been reflective of the diverse world in which we operate. Prior to Berkadia, Steve spent two years at Freddie Mac Multifamily in their Production group, quoting and structuring business in the Central region of the U.S. with annual volumes of approximately $1.5 billion. He has also worked at Millennium Properties R/E, Inc. where he managed a portfolio of non-performing and sub-performing assets and has a Masters Degree in Real Estate from Georgetown University and a Bachelors Degree in Finance from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
